This movie stars Marilyn Monroe,Laren Bacall, and Betty Grable as three New York models. Shatze(Lauren)Pola(Marilyn) and Loco(Betty) move into a Manhattan penthouse apartment in an effort to find eligible millionaire bachelors. In the end they all have to decide between love or money.

This 50's blouse is my favorite vintage find lately, I adore the pattern and pan collar!

My go-to braids for summer..a bit more interesting than a topknot and a perfect alternative to a blowout in the sweltering heat. I plait the back(4 braids)when it's still slightly wet and just blow dry the bangs..there is nothing worse than using hot air when it's 100 out!

Is any one else obsessed with True Blood? What are we called.."truebies",where my truebies at?! I'm really loving this season and Eric's "condition". Bold colored jeans have been on my mind lately and I picked up a pretty burgundy pair, perfect for fall. It's 100 degrees right now..the thought of wearing jeans makes me break out in sweats. I've been getting serious hair envy with all of the gorgeous red shades I'm seeing..thinking of going back to auburn! We had a lazy weekend and only ventured out on Friday night to meet up with friends for dinner and drinks.

 cheer up,sleepy!

So I woke up today feeling so run down and tired after working on pieces until 3am last night..I had more work to do this morning and I couldn't wait to get some time for myself. With Luke working a rare night shift and my friends busy with family plans I had the rest of the day to do whatever I wanted. When I was finally finished with my projects I took a bath until I turned wrinkly,got dressed,and did my hair and makeup. Even though it was just me and the animals today and no one to impress, the getting ready put me in such a good mood! I'd been cooped up in the house for the past few days and was getting a bit stir crazy so I hopped on my bike and road around downtown for a bit before stopping to pick up some lunch. Milk maid braids,florals,peter pan collars,and pink lipstick make me happy!

                     

The rest of the night was spent watching Pretty Women,Strange Addiction, and How I met your Mother..it was one of those random tv nights.

Baxter's hanging out in the living room tonight too!

Bringing Up Baby-1938

Last night I dreamed that I had a tiny baby tiger and I was scrambling to keep an eye on my cat, dog, and bunny..I think this movie had something to do with it! The handsome Cary Grant(swoon) stars as geeky paleontologist David with Katharine Hepburn as spacey heiress Susan. She pulls David into her crazy world after she's sent an adorable pet leopard, Baby, to look after. My favorite line as Susan's reading a letter from her brother describing Baby "He's three years old, gentle as a kitten, and likes dogs. I wonder whether Mark means that he eats dogs or is fond of them?"

Did you know that Cary's real name is Archibald?!

The weekend was spent relaxing and doing a little thrifting at our favorite shop. I picked up a great record set from the 60's and we dusted off our old player and it was so cool to see that it still worked! We're still working out the kinks but there's nothing better than hanging out and listening to records with friends. We stopped for lunch at the little retro place on the same street and I was so happy to see that they had Ski! I'm working on finishing up Clementine's makeover and she looks amazing so far!

I was having major hair envy seeing all of my favorites rocking their bangs so I decided to go for it and cut em myself! I had full bangs growing up but when I hit my teens my hair texture changed from slightly wavy to full on curly and I grew them out...hopefully they still work for me! I don't watch too many TV shows but one of my all time favorites is Law and Order SVU..I secretly want to be detective Olivia Benson.



I'm working on giving my retro schwinn "Clementine" a makeover, I can't wait to show her off!
