It finally snowed!! And then it was gone..it's 68 and sunny right now,this has been the weirdest winter ever!

It was freezing when we took these but I had to get a shot of this amazing vintage cape I found at the flea market. As I was buying it a little old lady ran over and hugged it saying "ooo this looks like sherlock holmes!" haha back off grams, this one's mine! I never thought I would be battling grannies for the same things haha what can I say, I like what I like.

In other news, this is the last time you'll be seeing me with my hair up in a sad little bun...I chopped it all off! I mean full-on almost Pixie. I cut it myself as usual so I'm still perfecting it, a little bit more is coming off everyday haha Short little layers are harder than I thought, escpecially in the very back. Thank goodness for haircutting videos. I'm hoping I can get it how I want, super nervous to show it off!

I'm sipping some fresh fruit/veggie juice and catching up on e-mails and messages..does anyone else get shy when it comes to responding to people online? I always want to make sure my personality shows through but I often wonder if I've said the wrong things or made any sense at all. Duckie's voice pops into my head "Do I offend? when I catch myself after the fact or over analyze what I've just said haha Pretty in Pink is one of my favorite movies of all time so that's the kind of silly thing I would think. I wish I could talk to everyone as easily as I talk to Luke, or the animals, or myself..that sounds crazy doesn't it haha Forget about calling people on the phone, I'm horrible at it!

It's a get it done Saturday, shyness and all..

my funny valentine

Luke and I had a perfectly low key Valentine's Day, just the way we like it. I made breakfast, he made dinner. It's a partnership..we balance each other out. He's practical and sensible, I'm impulsive and a bit fickle at times. I didn't dream of my wedding day as a little girl but I knew how I wanted to be loved, Luke is my very best friend. He also does the dishes after I wreck the place,folds socks, and is the best kitty/puppy/bunny daddy in the world..they love him the most haha I'm so glad he held my hand that summer night years ago, we've been inseparable ever since!

We watched Picnic at Hanging Rock later that night, I didn't realized it was set on Valentine's Day! It's been on my Netflix queue for over a year..a "misplaced" mad men disc was finally found and this was the first movie to come in yesterday, perfect timing!

 I celebrated my 26th birthday on Wednesday doing exactly what I wanted..vintage shopping and sushi! We went to my two favorite places in town and it couldn't have been a better day. February is my very favorite month..Valentine's Day is coming up next!

I used my birthday as an opportunity to play dress up and wear some of my favorite pretty things. I dipped into my vintage glitter to add some sparkle to the heel of these mary janes, my vintage shoe clips made them extra fancy!

This pretty 50's dress was 2$! It's missing all its buttons and needs a little repair work but I adore it, perfect little project.

One of my favorite places to be growing up, the woods at Pleasant Ridge. I love the little natural river and waterfall and all of the moss and mushrooms.  I would come here to collect morels(so tasty!) and hike the trails but mostly to read and be alone..I'm an introvert like that haha
