you picked me.

You Picked Me by A Fine Frenzy on Grooveshark

One of our favorite things to during the warmer weather months is fruit picking at the orchard. Its one of those little things we've done together our entire relationship and we recently celebrated our 5 yr wedding anniversary! Time flies. It's just outside of the city and all of the open space makes you feel like you're in the country. I remember coming here with my grandma Betty as a little girl.

google earth-always takin pics.

We always like to have little competitions or bet on who's right..the person with the best blackberry specimen got treated to lunch. I won. haha! I'm just shorter and closer to the earth, and better at hunting. It's the thrifting training I swear.

There really is nothing like picking fresh fruit, and making something sweet.
We still have apples and pumpkins to pick, my favorites!

Hope you're having a lovely weekend.

just peachy

tastes like summer..

Luke and I had the most amazing weather for our day off so we just had to do something outside. We went to our favorite orchard to get lunch and pick our own peaches. A honey bear holds yummy apple butter and is served with warm fried biscuits..

It started getting windy and raining just a little bit..I'll take anything over 100 degree days and it was in the 70's, perfect!  Since it was a little late in the season there was a ton of fruit wasted on the ground and the lady told us it would be a bit like a treasure hunt to find the good stuff. It smelled so good though!

Leaves on the ground make me happy..I can't wait for fall!

I guess we ventured a little too far out because the wagon left without us( and a few others) so we had a bit more time to find more peaches! There really is nothing quite like plucking your own fruit from a tree. I can't wait to make a pie, cobbler,or do some canning! My grandma and I used to can our own fresh jam/salsa and I plan on trying it out on my own. Mmm(a plum one picked from a backyard tree & a vegetable patch tomato jam that I never stop thinking about)
