I used to love to post these little recaps religiously every Sunday night, I haven't done one in the longest! I blame my bad blogging on the broken down laptop. I swear I was so much more productive when I could watch tv/netflix and do work..being in my studio is too secluded!

Remember the Book It! program in school?  I used to go crazy for the personal pan cheese pizza. Luke's been trying to get me to read The Count of Monte Cristo aloud before bed. I made it through a few chapters, I earned it. haha

Saturday morning Luke and I got sucked into watching a "Too Cute" marathon on animal planet. Baby animals and a whole episode on sloths!! I adore their perma smile, these people literally have my dream job!

Did you guys watch The Walking Dead premiere tonight?! So excited that I was actually caught up with a show enough to watch it "live" haha I'm always late to the party.

We've been watching this lately, the fair is in town so it's perfect timing! I can't really even begin to describe my love for this show. It combines my interest in depression era fashion and furnishings with circus shenanigans and mysticism, a supreme battle of good and evil. It's all around awesome, albeit a bit dark..one of my favorite shows ever. Based in the 1930's it follows a traveling carnival and it's troop of misfits around the United States during the dust bowl. It's one of those great HBO shows that was canceled far before it's time..I think it would be better received now in the wake of crazier shows like True Blood. I'm really sad there's only two seasons..and I'm a little sad for you if you haven't watched this show yet!

We had the most perfect, cool weather this weekend. As I'm typing this the chilly air is rushing through the open windows..it's 70! I get excited about things like that. We even slept with the bedroom windows open the past few days. Luke tried to wake me up this morning.."get outta bed sleepy head." I just snuggled in further saying "but it's sleeping weather" haha I just love it.

Took Clemmie out for a midday bike ride..Z rode in the basket for about 1 minute haha

gloomy sunday

We had an awesome, low key weekend. I kind of love the days when there is really nothing to do but whatever sounds good. There's been a crazy heat wave for weeks and the rain finally came on Sunday. It was that light, steady rain that just cools down the air..we threw open every window. Chilly days in the summer are my favorite! The rain curbed our plans of a little day trip to Grafton for the riverside flea market,hummingbird festival(!), and blackberry picking..sounds awesome right?! We stayed in town instead and pretended like we were on vacation.

Fresh picks-this is what I normally strive for when thrifting: 60's florals,sweet flats,anything tooled,cute/pretty glass things &

enamel brooches! These are kind of hard to find lately so it's extra exciting.

Most of the time was spent outside on the deck being our future old people selves. An entire game of scrabble,coffee,little sandwiches, animal friends..it was perfection. To be fair we played the loose rules edition..

 Zizi's getting back to her feisty self, she had a sick spell and made me worry like crazy. I love this sweet girl. We took her in a few years ago and she's had my heart ever since Luke plopped her rumpled self down on our bed. She's the creepiest/cutest thing I've ever seen..her profile is so sinister. And she has this weird little goatee. My tiny bearded lady. I want to restore the eaves on our 1860's house with little gargoyles of her haha

Gave myself some fresh fringe/color. Such a weird in-between stage, all I want to do in this heat is throw it in a tiny ponytail. Growing it out from a pixie is tough!

I'd be more inclined to do my laundry if it looked like this all of the time! haha The only good thing about this dry, scorching heat is the lightening speed line drying. Summer sun laundry just smells the best.

We have this little brick area between the carriage house and deck that is the perfect hidden spot for a clothes line..and globe lights,courtesy of Luke. I took a solo trip last spring to hang with my oldest friend in Charleston and came back to a clean house and these strung up! What a guy.

It was his golden birthday yesterday, 29 on the 29th! 

We hung out in the air conditioning watching whatever he wanted..

I know I can't be the only one who gets sucked into watching adventure time and regular show?! Lumpy space princess kills me.

Baxter dug around in the dirt and plants on the deck this morning while I was watering the garden and had himself a munch of lettuce..followed by a bath!

It's so hot here..like over 100 degrees. Record breaking temps! I'm a winter baby, Fall is my comfort level! It was 108 on Thursday and is forecasted to be in the hundreds for at least a week straight. My glob. I'll be inside doin my spring..er summer cleaning and watching ridiculous tv shows. After exhausting all of my options on netflix instant I clicked my way onto pretty little liars..it's too much, I kind of love it. I just wanna know who A is! haha I'm 1/2 watching while cleaning my room, it's like I'm a teenager all over again. Kind of.

I always love certain songs on days like this, sunny and beautiful! It's still early and almost 90, suddenly summer. I woke up extra early and hit up a few estate sales in the area..did I tell you that they're my new favorite thing?! Music,sunnies,windows down..sometimes it's nice to take a little adventure by myself.

Perfect song for driving around with the windows down in this amazing sunny weather we've been having lately, it already feels like spring! This was rediscovered this morning on a random mix that I played non-stop a few years ago, I love it just as much today. 

 I couldn't believe all of the daffodils we have popping up, my favorite little harbingers of spring!

I'm sipping some fresh fruit/veggie juice and catching up on e-mails and messages..does anyone else get shy when it comes to responding to people online? I always want to make sure my personality shows through but I often wonder if I've said the wrong things or made any sense at all. Duckie's voice pops into my head "Do I offend? when I catch myself after the fact or over analyze what I've just said haha Pretty in Pink is one of my favorite movies of all time so that's the kind of silly thing I would think. I wish I could talk to everyone as easily as I talk to Luke, or the animals, or myself..that sounds crazy doesn't it haha Forget about calling people on the phone, I'm horrible at it!

Halloween!

Halloween is one of my favorites and I look forward to it every year. I love the cold weather,warm bonfires,pumpkins, and scary movies that come along with it and I had the chance to enjoy some festivities this weekend. Luke and I carved up our pumpkins,made some yummy roasted seeds, and  baked pumpkin bread while having a spooky movie marathon ..our tradition. We always have to watch Arsenic and Old Lace, it's our favorite Halloween movie!
