I haven't done a film friday in a while..mostly because they changed the cable lineup and took away TCM! I was devastated. We, myself and the senior citizen community, are outraged. haha This article cracks me up!  I don't love a whole lot of tv but c'mon, Turner Classic Movies?! I would have it on all day while I was working in the studio..now it's back to netflix for my old movie fix. I'm re watching favorites now and this is definitely top 10, it's one the first classic movies Luke and I watched together. I think we might have watched Sunset Boulevard on the same night..these were his picks, I think he likes feisty older ladies. We were browsing through books at the flea market a few months ago and I heard a voice squeal "Auntie Mame!" haha he had found the vintage book and was excited to show me..I still make fun of him. I guess you could say he loves it too!

She always throws the best parties and is decked out in the latest fashions. She changes color schemes in her grand home quicker than her hair color haha She's what I imagine myself to be as an older lady..minus the funds. Mame's world is turned upside down when she inherits her young nephew followed by a stock market crash. She's gotta find a job, or a man...

   Beauty and the Beast-1946

"For grown-ups who haven't lost touch with their childhood"

I adore fairy tales and the story of Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorites. This french film is hauntingly beautiful and so magical, the best version ever made! It's directed by poet and filmmaker Jean Cocteau and stars the stunning Josette Day as Belle and Jean Marais as Avenant/the beast.

The Postman Always Rings Twice-1946

Film noir with a classic fatal attraction storyline. A mysterious young traveler with severe wanderlust happens upon a sleepy town..

I love the epic whir of music when they first kiss and her deadpan reapplication of lipstick throughout the film. Her wardrobe features figure enhancing ensembles and a dramatic turban.  In one instance she wears the most gorgeous vintage skirted swimsuit with a structured blazer, so glam!  Another fantastic outfit features a slim pencil skirt, silk blouse, beret ,and gloves.

Bringing Up Baby-1938

Last night I dreamed that I had a tiny baby tiger and I was scrambling to keep an eye on my cat, dog, and bunny..I think this movie had something to do with it! The handsome Cary Grant(swoon) stars as geeky paleontologist David with Katharine Hepburn as spacey heiress Susan. She pulls David into her crazy world after she's sent an adorable pet leopard, Baby, to look after. My favorite line as Susan's reading a letter from her brother describing Baby "He's three years old, gentle as a kitten, and likes dogs. I wonder whether Mark means that he eats dogs or is fond of them?"

Did you know that Cary's real name is Archibald?!
